The Mom Test

There’s a lot of startup advice out there, but I have found few that are as practical and tactical as The Mom Test.

Often when we’re trying to validate a startup idea, we ask our friends and family if it’s a good idea. Friends and family lie! The Mom Test is the antidote. Fitzpatrick offers a series of questions you can ask in user interviews, to quickly determine if people are being polite or if you’re actually on to something.
