The Company: A Novel of the CIA
Everyone loves a good spy thriller, and The Company is a great one!
Framed as a novel, it really is a dense history of the Cold War and the individual characters that were entwined in it. It starts with the formation of the CIA (a.k.a. “The Company”) and stretches all the way up to the collapse of the Soviet Union. In between, we meet the likes of Allen Dulles, James Jesus Angleton, Kim Philby and more.
Littell does a fantastic job of weaving these historical figures into several connected storylines that build upon one another, and the result is a rich tapestry of espionage, intrigue, and human drama.
